Hi. I want to make a trip to Vancouver for a long weekend. We'll likely drive (from Seattle) but we're bringing our 3 1/2 yr old and almost 1 yr old. Ideally, we'd find somewhere with affordable suites. We don't want to pay an exorbitant amount, but want somewhere safe and nice with food there and lots nearby. Thanks for any rec's!

Sometimes Priceline, etc. makes bargains out of regularly expensive places.

Check the Westin Bayshore, which is right on the water near Stanley Park and the big kid will enjoy the park and looking at airplanes in the harbour, and watching the boats.

And try the Granbville Island hotel.

I have never actually been in it but I know several people who like the Rosellen Suites. It is in a very good location and the price is more reasonable than other suite hotels. Here is their website http://www.rosellensuites.com/

the rooms at blue horizon on robson r almost suite size. the coast plaza on comox at denman has suites w/ kitchens and some great views as does the blu horizon)

the sylvia has been redone, but used to have suites on english bay

Another good suite hotel is the Century Plaza on Burrard. Their rates are quite reasonable right now.
