Lodging in Cavendish

I am looking for any recommendations for a nice place to sty in Cavendish, PEI. Any help would be appreciated.

We stayed at the Kindred Spirits bed and breakfast. It was perfectly OK. I have to say that the Dalvay House in the National Park looked really great. I wish I had booked there. We had a very good meal at McKenna's Tea room in the area.
The nicest place we stayed in PEI was the Inn at Bay Fortune. It is simply fabulous.

Funny ! My family is from " down east " close to Inn at Bay Fortune . It is a beautiful inn , great food , wonderful area . It was owned originally by one of the Harris brothers who was a part of Canadas famous group of seven . After that , by George c. Scott and Colleen Dewhurst ... When I was about 18 it had been left unused for a few years , we used to explore the buildings , and if we saw a loose door well .... We explored a bit more !! Great place .

Faithie: I'm afraid you have your Harris's confused. The Bay Fortune Harris was Elmer Harris, the American playwright among whose many plays was "Johnny Belinda", based on events in the community, and who built the place as a summer home. The Group of Seven Harris was Lawren S. Harris, whose son Lawren P. Harris was also a distinguished artist.

Nevertheless the Inn is a wonderful place to stay with a great restaurant. Although it's not close to Cavendish, I'd certainly recommend it.

Island folklore perhaps .. !! lol , But I actually meant to write that they were brothers . I knew the owner was the Johnny Belinda playwright , and we always grew up thinking he was the brother of the other painter ... In any case , he hosted many famous artists .

Small world, Faithie. I really liked Kindred Spirits, but it was a bit of a comedown after the incredible stay at the Inn at Bay Fortune, which I loved. I first visited PEI in 1972 and fell in love with the colors. It is a beautiful place.

Hi, there was also the painter Robert Harris who did many paintings on P.E.I. Many are in the permanent collection at the Confederation Centre art gallery. I used to love looking at them when I was a girl growing up in Charlottetown. The P.E.I. government has a great website that is easy to use for finding accommodations anywhere on the Island.
