locating an Ontario cottage rental that would allow a wedding!?!

So my daughter and her fiance want a cottage wedding in Ontario next summer. We have responded to some rentals through agencies and all say that they dont allow weddings.
Has anyone had any luck finding them any other way or attended cottage weddings at a rental spot?

irecommend: It sounds like you're looking for a private cottage rental? I've rented a number of private cottages, never for a wedding though - and most cottage owners I've come across express a bit (or a lot) of anxiety about crowds and parties.

What about a cottage resort? They're used to dealing with crowds and some have large outdoor areas and even indoor facilities.

On that note, some time ago we attended a charming wedding at Fern Resort...I don't know if it still a good site, but they had both resort-style and cottage accomodation for guests.

As the owner of a sea-side home that we rent out by the week, I have to say you could NOT pay us enough to permit a wedding to take place there. There are liability issues that occur when you mix liquor, boats, deep water and the sense of recklessness that seems to overcome even the most charming of guests when they know they will NEVER lay eyes on you personally.

I would recommend renting the cottages in Niagara on the Lake and having a Park or Vineyard wedding nearby... lots of romantic sites, carriage rides, and tons of fun eating choices in and around the village...
