Letter from spuse to visit Canada?
My son & I would love to visit Montreal and then Tremblant for some snow activities such as Dog sledding, snowmobiling, skiing, etc. My wife hates them all. So we are planning to make it all guy vacation. Just happened to see that Canadain authorities require that I get a letter from my wife permitting me to travel to Canada, if my son isn't accompanied by both parents. Is this true?

I think this depends on the officer you end up getting at the border, some ask some don't but if I were you I would have it just to be safe.
And I believe they have to notarized or "legal"...I don't know the proper terms lol!!

Yes you should have that letter if transporting youth across a border, but as irecomend states, there are many things your wife might enjoy in either Montreal if you day trip to Tremblant, or in Tremblant if you settle there.
As to the customs check, expect goose stepping officers to roust you from your sleep. It is the Canadian way.
