Keddys Hotel in Halifax

Hi! I have been checking on hotels to stay
at in Halifax this summer. Keddys seems
to be reasonably priced. Is this a nice place to stay? Is there an indoor pool?

Thanks for any comments and help in this matter.

It's been a few years since I stayed there, but it was always clean and decent. It's in a somewhat residential area, so it's quiet too. The pool is indoor and fairly large if I remember correctly. It's a bit of a drive from the downtown area. Have you checked the Holiday Inn in Dartmouth? It's right across the harbour from downtown Halifax, and a ferry goes between the 2 areas very frequently, cost is probably less than $2 per trip.

I wouldn't choose either....Keddy's isn't so bad but you're really not in the centre of anything...about 15 minutes by car or bus to the downtown. If you're planning to spend your time driving around then it wouldn't be inconvenient. The Holiday Inn in Dartmouth is in a lousy area that's nothing more than a low end mall and bus stop. Why don't you stay in a B&B nearer to downtown (they're are lots)....you'll be able to walk and see Halifax at its best.

I have to agree with Island Girl on this suggestion. The value of the Holiday Inn Harbourview in Dartmouth is its proximity to the Halifax waterfront via the ferry, which is extremely convenient. I would highly recommend it for consideration and I've stayed there several times without even really taking note of the neighborhood it is in. That is not the thing to focus on, but rather, the view of the harbor and the ease of getting into and out of the Halifax waterfront area.
