jasper lodge or emerald lake lodge
My husband and I love outdoor activities--we really enjoyed crescent lake lodge in Washington last summer--beautiful lodge with great food and memorable views. We like to keep busy though and would not enjoy a place too secluded with nothing to do but hike and relax. Has anybody been to both Jasper lodge and Emerald Lake lodge to compare the two?

Hi There,
I’ve never been to the Emerald Lake Lodge, but I can tell you that Jasper is one of the most scenic places in Canada. You and your husband might want to check out www.vacationsbyrail.com for future vaccations. We offer rail vacation packages in places like the US, Canada, and Mexico. Been to both Jasper Lodge and Emerald Lake Lodge (twice). No comparison: Emerald Lake Lodge is one of best settings in the Canadian Rockies. Great rooms with a view, wonderful food and good people.

i haven't stayed at either but both are in beautiful settings and both get great reviews. emerald lake is pretty secluded. jasper place lodge is outside of town but there is more things accessible from here within a 15 minute drive.

I agree with equinox; the setting (and food) of Emerald Lake Lodge is unsurpassed. When I stayed there it was purposefully for the peace and quiet; with the odd foray out for a hike around the lake or a canoe ride. To go anywhere away from the lodge, you would have to get shuttled to your vehicle and then drive some distance. It would be about a 10 or 15 minute drive to Field (very small village), half an hour to Lake Louise, 1 hour to Banff and 45 minutes to Golden (times approximate).
Jasper Lodge might suit you better as ltt stated. |
thanks for all of your input. I think Jasper would work better for us.
