Jasper hospital
 

We will be in Jasper for 3 nites in June.
What kind of hospital is seton general?
emergency care, how many bed hospital etc?
My husband has some health issues and that
is why i am asking. Just in case.

Fortunately I have never had occasion to use the hospital, so do not know what it is like.

One website that I found stated:

Something you might consider doing is phoning the hospital and asking them. Their number is (780) 852-3344. Jasper is in the North American Mountain Time Zone.

The Canadian health care system relies heavily on air vac by helicopter for dire emergencies. So if the Jasper hospital cannot handle the situation, a helicopter will transport him to either Edmonton or Calgary. This would have to be a really dire situation that Jasper could not handle.
As Judy states, call the hospital if you know what type of emerency you might face.

You do have travelers health insurance, right?

I'm jumping into this late, I know, but I may be able to shed some light here.

Seton Hospital has an ER and, I believe, a limited number of inpatient beds, but offers no ICU, CCU, or surgical services. They always evacuate to the Capital Health Region (Edmonton-based) unless it is a critical care situation and we are in critical care fly-over mode (this happens so rarely that it isn't worth worrying about, we always seem to make room for critical patients). Capital Health offers two major trauma centers and a total of 5 facilities with ICU and CCU capability, as well as 2 NICUs and a high-risk caseroom. I know all of this because have been seen at the ER in Seton for a minor injury, and because I am a nurse-manager in Capital Health.

I'm not sure if you will be driving down to Banff as part of your trip, but wanted to say that Banff Hospital is excellent. Unfortunately, I had occasion to use their facilities and could not have been treated better.
