Jasper activities with teens?

We are spending 3 days in Jasper with our 2 teenagers. Any suggestions other than hiking? Could anyone suggest any rafting or horseback riding facilities?

I believe there are 3 whitewater rafting companies in Jasper. I have not heard of substantial differences amongst them.

Pyramid Stables offers horseback riding.

You can ride the tram up Whistlers Mountain (which is all the better if you can do the extra little hike to the top of the mountain).

You can rent mountain bikes from Freewheel Cycle & Snowboards.

You could go to Miette Hot Springs.

You can rent canoes and kayaks at Maligne Lake.

But the hiking alone is fantastic. Even if you did nothing else, I think it would be great.

Definitely whitewater rafting - you could "do" all three outfits that Judy suggested; we've watched the rafters bobble by on the Athabasca River, the chief difference seems to be the size (and colour) of the raft.

You can also canoe on Pyramid Lake, which I think is more scenic for short paddling adventures than Maligne.

The horseback riding facility (stables) are on the way to Pyramid Lake as well (an 8 minute drive along a short narrow winding road north of Jasper townsite).

Enjoy!!!

I have a generic question. Why is it that everyone is so desperate to entertain teen agers? They lack the personal resources to figure out something for themselves? Mom and Dad are to sacrifice their trip just to sate selfish interests?

yes, I have teen aged grandsons.

Thanks for the replies! Bob, it's not that I feel obligated to entertain my teenagers, it's just that they like the more adventerous activities. Horesback riding and rafting are not necessarily something my husband and I would do if they were not with us. It's a family trip and I would like it to be memorable for everyone. Thanks again!
