I'm travelling to Canada end of April. I'm hoping to be able to communicate with my family while i am away via email and visa versa. I don't have a portable email device. How easy is it to get access. I hear you can use libraries and internet cafes. Are there many available. We will be on Vancouver Island, British Columbia and the Rockies. Also, do you know what cost is involved.<BR>THanks

Yeah, there will be tons of places to get internet access. In fact, Canada has one of the highest ratios of internet connections per person. ;)<BR><BR>In Vancouver for instance, you'll probably spot many internet cafes - most will have signs posted outside advertising. I'm unaware of how much it costs, but it shouldn't be *too* much. Most,if not all, the branches of a big bookstore chain called Chapters have internet computers that you operate by buying a card (I thnk that $5 is the minium)from a vending machine, and then running through a card reader to get connected.<BR><BR><BR>As far as I know, there's no way to print out your messages.<BR><BR>BAK<BR>

I completely forgot something! One of my friends used to work for a wireless internet company, and they were trying to get wireless internet service to many of the local hotels. So there's a good chance that some of the hotels you stay at have internet access too!

In addition to the info Brian provided above...I was in a Chapters here in Ontario the other day and noticed that is was $2 for 20 minutes. I don't know if the charge varies by location but thought you might find that bit of info useful.

Georgie-is 'ozemail' a web-based email?<BR>If not I suggest http://www.canada.com easily available planet-wide and not nearly as busy as some others,like Hotmail(60+ million subscribers) and Yahoo.<BR>As mentioned abvove internet is widely available here in Canada I spent my first 'internet year' in Cafes, they vary in price, service and cleanliness like everything else.<BR>
