Inn-on-the-Lake Dining Feedback

My family and I are planning on having Thanksgiving Dinner at The Inn-on-The-Lake, Fall River, N.S. because it is near the Halifax Airport. Does anyone have any comments or feedback about the food, ambiance and service at this resort? Thank you in advance.

Haven't eaten there in years, it used to be quite a popular spot. Lovely location on the water. The food was always good.

If you are looking for more formal, than this is probably the place. For simple good food (and don't laugh) the Irving Truck Stop just minutes from the airport is always lined up and typically serves a hot turkey dinner. The other option just up the road from the Irving, is Curly Portables, a unique pub with great food.

I have been a lurker on Fodors for almost a year now, but I felt I had to register to be able to post a reply to this message.

We stayed at Inn on the Lake twice last year (October and December), and had a very good dining experience both times. In fact, we had New Year's Eve dinner there as our flight home was at 2300 on New Year's Eve and we were able to book dinner there earlier in the evening. On all occasions we had great service and really tasty, well-presented food. It was especially good having the celebratory meal there to complete our Christmas holiday. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. We are returning to NS for Christmas this year, and I have already booked our first night at this hotel as I see it as an integral part of my NS experience.

I hope you have a great trip.
