Info on Oakville Ontario & Toronto

I saw an old message from a year ago about the Oakville Entertainment Centrum in Oakville. We will be travelling from Niagra to Toronto and my husband LOVES the restaurant Tu Tu Tango which is said to be in this complex. Does anyone know for sure and what hotels are nearby in case we decide to stay over. Another thought would it be better to drive on to Toronto on a Sunday night and if we stay over what time should we travel to downtown Toronto as to avoid Monday RUSH hour.
Thanks so much

It's not all that hard to get from Oakville to Toronto by car. It seems like a million people do it most days, according to the traffic jams.

If you leave Oakville around 9 am, the traffic is not that bad.

I cannot find any listing for Tu Tu Tango in the white pages of the oakville telephone book nor in the "Oakville and Surrounding Areas" yellow pages under restaurants.

Maybe it has some other name, but anyway, it ain't in the book.

Oakville is fairly wide. There's a Holiday Inn, but it's at the west end of town and that entertainmentg area, if it is the one I think it is, is up against the eastern border.

BAK

Driving to Toronto will be much easier on Sunday night than Monday morning unless you go later in the morning. The odd time when I drive I try to be on the QEW before 6:30.

I live in Oakville and have never heard of neither the Oakville Entertainment Centrum nor Tu Tu Tango. This does not necesarily mean they don't exist.

Thank you both. This entertainment complex also has an AMC (25 or so) screen movie theater with a variety of restaurants in the complex. The address is 2085 Winston Park Drive
hello!

I know of the complex you are talking but I don't know of a Tutu Tango... There is an Alice Fazooli's - yum. There are hotels near the QEW to access this complex... but this is the least appealing part of Oakville. I don't know if you knew this - but Oakville is one of the fantastic areas to visit while in Ontario. If you head south of the QEW toward the Lake youwill be amazed by what you find. Simply take Trafalgar Road south from QEW and enjoy the history and beauty - a great couple of restaurants there - Bistro 300, Paradiso, Season's, Olivers - JONATHANS!! And so much more. Great shopping beautiful views of Toronto and I do the drive every day down the QEW Toronto bound and if I leave at 9:15am I am usually ok.

Have fun -Oakville stole my heart forever.

Hi ezmark; Hope this isn't too late. There was an article in a local paper today regarding Cafe Tu Tu Tango. There is a special dinner March 29th @ $10 pp to celebrate their opening with proceeds going to the Easter Seal Society. It's by reservation only and bookings were to be made by today. Here's the contact# anyway just in case the date fits your plans 905-639-9429.

The restaurant is in the AMC Entertainment Complex -- an enclave of theatres and restaurants at Winston Churchill and Hwy 403. Here's their website: http://www.cafetututango.com/canada.html
You exit QEW at Ford Drive/Hwy 403. Stay on Ford Dr. (north/west) Turn right (east) at Upper Middle which goes right past the theatres/restaurants.
