ideal time for trip to victoria , butchart gardens
We are planning a future trip to this area. Would like to go when the weather is nice and not too crowded if this is possible.
If could go anytime from late may through september, what would you pick? thanks |
For a garden, I'd visit in June. The reason for this is because it's a month when all the vegetation is at its most lush, and there will be plenty of flowers. However, it's impossible for predict weather... you can have a few wet days in June... but that's just the nature of this region.
July and August are statistically the hottest, driest months, but it's also the height of peak season. September is statistically more of a dry month than May, however, it's not nearly as lush. |
Hi, I agree with Carmanah, If your main goal is the gardens june is pretty good , most the rodo's should be out. Plus Vancouver Island has generally better weather than the mainland, It's drier and sunnier approx. 5-10 degrees warmer. Although I live in White Rock B.C. and we're almost as nice.

What about for the rest of the area. June ok?
|
June is usually beautiful in Victoria and Vancouver. Victoria is about 2 weeks ahead of Vancouver from a flowering standpoint. They should have the hanging baskets up on the light posts around downtown Victoria. Should need just a light coat or sweater at night, unless windy/raining. June is a great time to Visit the Island.
