Ice Explorer Tour at IceField Centre

Trying to get opinions on whether to do the Tours at the IceField Centre. Opinions on whether this is worth it or not or if you could get other experiences through other hikes, etc. One poster said the total time of the tour wss 1 hr. and 20 min. on the Ice Explorer and it was $148 for four people back in 2005.

We plan to do lots of hiking in the Cavell Meadows Hike, Path of the Glacier Trail to see Angel Glacier as well as the Plain of the Six Glaciers.

Please offer opinions if you can. May prefer to put money towards something else such as rafting, tram ride, etc. depending on opinions of fodorites. Thanks.

It's not every day you get to travel out to a glacier and walk around, without risking your life and hiking a tough route.

I'd go for it. I've been twice and I think it's a "must-do."

I think you should do it, it is definitely a unique experience.

We just got back from a trip to Jasper/Banff and did end up going on the tour at the Ice Field. It's a splurge but definitely worth it. You may never get another chance to see a glacier up close like that. I was with my adult sons and father and we all considered it a highlight.

YES...do it!

I've done it twice and I'm going to do it a third time in September.

It's a wonderfully, unique experience!
