How much time is enough to do Quebec City?

I'm looking to go to Quebec sometime this summer. Was thinking a long weekend would be good. I've been to Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa and am eager to try another Canadian city. It would be my girlfriend and I and we're more interested in seeing city sites, bar hopping, walking along a river, etc. as opposed to performing arts, museums, etc.

A long weekend in August was enough for us. We also spent part of a day at the waterfalls and the big cathedral (sorry, I cannot remember names today:)

I think you will find that a day is plenty.

A long weekend is great; I think that will give you a good flavour of much of what Quebec has to offer. I've been to Quebec about 7 times or so, staying typically the weekend and each trip I discover new things to appreciate about the city.

If you go for along week-end, you should plan to explore the country side:<BR>Montmorency Falls, Ile d'Orl&eacute;ans, Ste-Anne-de-Beaupr&eacute; Basilica, Ste-Anne Canyon, Baie St-Paul and Charlevoix are all very nice.
