How many days to see Montreal

I've booked us for 4 nights in Montreal before going on to Mt. Tremblant. Since we will be arriving in the evening, that gives us 3 full days to see the city, plus the latter part of a day when we return from Mt. Tremblant and stay over before catching Amtrak home the next morning. Several people have told me that this is too much time to alot for Montreal. We want a leisurely pace but they think we will be bored. Should I cut back to 3 nights?

Hi

3 full days is not too long for Montreal. You know the expression that says "if you're bored in New York City, it's your own da*ned fault"? IMHO, the same applies to Montreal; it's a great city, with frankly a lifetime of things to do. I've lived here for 5 years + and still never tire of the city.

With three days, you could spend one in Vieux Montreal; another downtown, exploring the Underground and strolling rue St-Catherine; another off to the Botanical Gardens, rue St-Denis; and you'd have hardly covered the city. We've been going to Montreal several times a year for more than seven years and there's still a lot we haven't seen.
