Hi Kellie, it looks like I'll be helping you out on this post too.

I would spend three days in Banff, one day travelling to Jasper and two days in Jasper. Recommended things to do in Banff would be the Gondola Ride up Sulfur Mountain, the cave and basin Hot Springs, a hike in the mountains, shopping in Banff, counting the mountain sheep meandering down Jasper Avenue! and just basically soaking up the scenery. On the way to Jasper be sure to stop at the Columbia Icefields where you can take a tour out onto the Glacier.

There are wonderful short/easy hikes that you can take kids on. When you go through the park gate get info on hikes or go to the tourism office in Banff.

If you are looking for a wonderful casual dinner head up Tunnel Mountain Road and go to Cilantro at Buffalo Mountain Lodge (the dinning room at Buffalo Mountain Lodge is great too but it might be a bit formal for kids) or alternatively try Jo Blistiks (sp?) on Jasper Avenue (the main street). Also don't miss the Welches Candy Store on Jasper Avenue -- it has every candy (and then some) you remember as a child. A real nostalgia trip.

As for Jasper it has been a while since I went so I can't really help you on that one.
