How low will the U.S. Dollar go?

I remember growing up in Michigan back in the 60's and the Canadian Dollar was stronger than the U.S. Dollar.

Several years ago I was in Vancouver and stores actually had signs that said, Half price if paying with U.S. Dollars.

And in the newspaper yesterday, the U.S. Dollar is only about 10% stronger than the Canadian Dollar.

How low will the U.S. Dollar go?

I have absolutely no idea. On the other hand, I consider the question to be irrelevant. If my kids, who now are in their twenties, were five years old today, I would not register them in a French immersion school as I did back then. They’d be learning Mandarin. :)

Judy - What can you possibly mean by that response?

i think that she means, in the words of Sam Goldwyn, "Never prophecy, especially about the future."

All I know is that it sure made my recent trip to California a lot less painful!

I read a quote from some famous American Economist who's heyday was the 50s and 60s.
It went something like this.

The only purpose of economic forecasting is to make astrology look good.

The economist quoted was the recently deceased Kenneth Galbraith (who co-incidently was Canadian).

Thanks semiramis.
I am glad there is somebody out there with a memory.

Funny how those memories suddenly seem to get lost on Presidential election days.
