How long for customs at Toronto airport?

We will be arriving into Toronto's main (Pierson?) airport on a Sat monting (from USA). Any guess as to what to figure time-wise in getting thru customs? Also, do we go thru a pre-boarding US customs when leaving Toronto's airport? If so, how long to plan for that?

I go through customs at Pierson airport frequently and it usually only take 5 or 10 minutes (it depends of course on how many other planes have landed at the same time as yours.) Leaving Canada for the US you will go through security, immigration and customs at Pierson. That can take some time. I traveled back to New York on American Airlines last week and the process of checking in, going through immigration, then customs and then security took 1 hour. So, leave yourself plenty of time on your return (2 hours to be sure) Have a good trip.

Saturday morning's aren't too bad. You didn't indicate if you're coming here for World Youth Day, in which case it will be quite a zoo. If not, then plan on less than 1/2 an hour to get through customs. If during this festival, then I'd say about 60 to 90 minutes.

Leaving Pearson Airport you go through US customes first with your completed form, then through US immigration, both in Toronto, then security. Leave an extra hour for this unless you're leaving during peak periods when you should add another hal an hour.
