Hotel near Vancouver airport on way to whistler
I booked a trip to Whistler for next March. Our flight arrives around midnight. I am looking for a hotel near the airport where we can catch a short nap before catching the shuttle up to Whistler. I am looking at the Hampton Inn Vancouver Airport. I would welcome any comments on this location or suggestions for other places. Also, can you recommend convenient shuttle services to Whistler. We are a family of four.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Different transportation providers offer transportation from Vancouver towards Whistler (please see information acc. to the links below):

The best hotel is from my point of view the Fairmont Vancouver Airport hotel

Look for BC escape specials under hellobc for this hotel. I good also book a room in this hotel for half of the offical price (publihed on the hotel home page) via a normal travel agent (offical price acc. to the travel catalog).

I agree 100% that the Fairmont Airport is the absolute best choice when flying in or out of Vancouver. You might want to look at a limo to bring you to Whistler. The bus is $60 per person, and the limo is $350 for up to 6 passengers. It would be a lot more comfortable, and would probably allow more freedom to stop and take photos ,etc. www.timelimo.com www.whistlerglaciergroup.com

I doubt there's a shuttle to Whistler in the middle of the night. With that in mind, I would endure the taxi ride to downtown and stay at a good hotel there. I doubt it would take even 20 minutes at that time of night, and you'll be better positioned in the morning. Not to mention you'll be in downtown Vancouver if you want to take a walk, rather than in the airport.
