Hotel in Victoria
 

I currently have a reservation at the Marriott but I've heard it's not worth the money. Can anyone recommend a hotel which is in a good location for a reasonable price?

There are a lot of nice hotels in Victoria depending on what kind of accommodation you want and what you consider a reasonable price. When you go there is important too. Let me know when you are traveling and what price range. Priceline has Victoria hotels as well.

I'm traveling mid-Sept and looking for a place under $200 US per night. Someone central so I can walk would be the best.

Most of the nice hotels in Victoria are very central. Everything is centered around the downtown/inner harbour area. The Marriott is just a couple of blocks from the inner harbour. There are so many hotels that will suit your needs. My favourite is the Grand Pacific. It is across the street from the water and the rooms are lovely most with great views. I checked Priceline shop and compare price and they have it listed at $179 US. That would be in line with the Mariott but I think a much nicer hotel. Their website is www.hotelgrandpacific.com. I don't know if you can do any better price wise by calling them.

The Ramada Huntingdon Hotel is in that area and I think one of the best values. It is a very nice hotel and is in the $100/night range. I would definitely stay there if you want location and good price. They have a website but just google it. There are a lot of other hotel/motels in the area but I don't think you can beat the two I mentioned. Let me know if you want more info. Have a great visit to our city.

I'm not sure of your style preferences but my mother and I just returned and were quite comfortable in the economical Crystal Court Motel. Like other hotels there, it's literally a 5-min walk from the ferry. With a senior discount, the daily price was about $113 + tax. We had a large room, 2 beds, private bath and kitchen w/ coffeemaker, oven, and fridge. No continental breakfast or restaurant or A/C like the pricier places but there are MANY places to eat in the area and we also walked a few blocks to a supermarket near the Emily Carr House, a museum about this artist. A large window provided the ventilation we needed. Quite clean and friendly with helpful staff tho modest in style... and price.
