Hotel Close to Tasmussen Ferry?
Do you know of any hotels convienient to the Tas. Ferry in Vancouver?
|
If you will tell us where Tasmussen is located, several of us might be able to help. But there is no Tasmussen on my map. Perchance do you have reference to Tsawwassen? It is a large ferry terminal.
|
Do you mean the Tsawwassen ferry (pronounced ta-WAH-sen)?

The only one I can think of is the Best Western Tsawwassen Inn:
http://www.tsawwasseninn.com

But I do know there's a great B&B on the beach a few block away.

Not much around the Tsawwassen terminal but plenty around White Rock, a cute waterfront town right on Boundary Bay north of the US border and quite convenient for the ferry. Central Vancouver is about a half hour's drive, the airport around 15-20 min.; there's plenty of choice in those areas.

John: Thanks for reminding me of the name of the town we enjoyed coming back from Vancouver Island a few years back.
It was White Rock, I am sure. I had looked at the map, but could not decide which one it was. As I recall, there is an extensive drive along the water and some of the town is on the side of a steep hill.
Sorry, but I don't know where Tasmussen is either. Could it be near Brigadoon?
Only comes out once every so often?
Bob,

Yep, you're thinking of White Rock! And there's a giant white rock literally on the beach (and the pier). I love that town in the summer :)
|
I would like to go there again.
Perhaps Tahiti Pam will revisit the forum and tell us where the missing
Tasmussen was put.

I would not stay in White Rock if you need to get to the ferry in the am, the drive is a little long. there is a hotel in Tsawwassen, the best western that was mentioned. also close by is the Delta Town & Country Inn (604-946-4404) might be cheaper, but is a little in the middle of nowhere, however is a good stop-off point for a night's sleep.
