Help with trip to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick

Will be flying into Halifax and then driving to Amherst or should we stop in Truro. Then going to Moncton to go to Parlee beach,Hopewell Rocks,Magnetic hill.Any suggestion where to stay there and food ideas. How many nights do you suggest? Then driving to Saint John,Place to stay, eat. Then taking the ferry to Digby. Is this the best place to whale watch or can we wait to get back to Halifax, which is our next stop. Where would you recommend fishing, kayaking.
Place to stay in Halifax and any restaurants. Will be doing this in July and for about 10 days. Any help with this would be great. Thanks

Just a little help-
Truro was out least interesting stop, I suggest you stay elsewhere. We stayed on Brair(sp?) Island near Digby and did a whale watch from there, and really enjoyed both the Island (reached by ferry) and the whale watch.

Why not drive straight from the Halifax airport to Moncton? It is only a 3 hour drive. There's not much to do or see in either Truro or Amherst.
I would opt for whale watching in Digby as opposed to Halifax. The area around Digby is quite nice.
As for hotels in Halifax, The Westin, The Prince George and The Lord Nelson are all nice hotels and within walking distance to anywhere you choose to wander in downtown Halifax.
In terms of restaurants: for steak Ryan Duffy's or John Alans Steak House, for Italian Du Marizio or Il Mercato, For Seafood the Five Fisherman or The Upper Deck. For night life, or a nice meal don't miss the Economy Shoe Shop.
I'd suggest a harbour cruise on the Bluenose (if you can swing it) or the Mar 11. A day trip to Hubbards, Chester and Lunenburg are a must. Make sure you spend some time at Historic Properties along the waterfront.

If you are looking for fresh water fishing, Miramichi NB is world famous. It is only about an hour north of Moncton.
