Has anyone stayed at teh Omni Montreal recently?

Can anyone who recently stayed at the Omni let me know what they thought. I have heard good and bad things and need some advice. Thanks.

I was there last month. I usually stay there when in Montreal.
What specifically do you need to know?

Well I was just wondering if the location is good, if the rooms are a good size and clean, and how was the pool. Thanks a lot.

The hotel is in the area of downtown called "the golden square mile"--near museums, elegant shops. Some rooms have a beautiful view facing Mount Royal Park.
For my purposes, great location. The major drawback is that there were MAJOR street repairs going on--more traffic than usual, harder to drive in the area, and supposedly, construction noises could be heard as high up as the 20th floor, though that sounds a bit unlikely to me. You might want to check if it's still going on

Rooms range in size from large to enormous--obviously the larger the room, the higher the price. Even a standard room seemed quite spacious to me--The king size bed just took up a small part of the room , and there was a desk, a small sofa, and a table with 2 chairs by the window. all nice dark wood furniture. Bathrooms re "standard" hotel marble, with good amenities, telephone, bathrobes.
Never noticed a speck of dirt anywhere.

I didn;t use the pool this time (too cold and rainy) but could see it from my room window. Like many hotels in Montreal, the outdoor pool is on a lower floor (3rd) on an unimpressive looking concrete deck. You are literally surrounded by office buildings. The pool itself is nice (long rectangular lap pool) surrounded by lounge chairs. Indoors, there is a hot tub and you can enter the outdoor pool from inside under water.

I do return to this hotel fairly often. It's not what I wuld call a
super-luxury hotel, but it is a step above standard chains like Hilton, Marriott, etc. I've stayed at the Intercontinental in Montreal, and I would call that its closest competitor in style and service.

Hope this helps!

We used to stay at the Omni quite often. I thought the service there was quite good, the concierge was excellent. We always got a Jr Suite overlooking rue Sherbrook, on a high floor..loved that view!
I think the location is perfect!

I ususally stay at the Holiday in Crowne Plaza for overnite visits on Sherbrooke because of the parking.(my daughter attends McGill U) The Omni is also fine(have stayed there twice. The pool is not one in which you would want to spend more than 30 minutes by. It is not pretty and there to attract families. The better choice if you want a pool is the Bonaventure where we stay when we spend a few day. On expedia you can get almost comparable rates. They have more family ameneties, the metro and underground mall are underneath the hotel.
