Guided Tour of Montreal? Help!
 

Hi,

My husband and I will be in Montreal over Labor Day weekend for a wedding. We've never been there before and won't have a lot of time. I'm interested in starting out the first couple of hours of our first day on a tour of the city.

I would prefer a driving tour with commentary that goes through different neighborhoods, and drives by points of interest without stopping. That way, we can go back later if we want to, but don't have to spend time at sights we aren't interested in. I was hoping for something about 3 hours in length.

I don't want to spend more than $50 U.S. per person. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

As a recommendation, Old Montreal would be a great place to wander around after a tour. Old buildings, entertainment, restaurants, the port..

Thanks Mike! Have you ever used those Grey Line tours? We never take guided tours, so I have no idea which companies are good. Thanks also for the suggestion about Old Montreal! I am really looking forward to this.

We took a Grayline tour of Montreal a few years ago and thought it was worthwhile. It took us to some sights outside the main tourist areas that we would have overlooked had we been on our own and gave us detailed and interesting information about sites such as Notre Dame Cathedral. If my memory serves me correctly, the tour lasted about half a day and cost $50 or less.

don't know, but i would guess it is because it is so cold in montreal in the winter. supposedly, not many tourists visit then.
