Grround transportation from Vancouver Airport
I am not familiar with the Vancouver airport and need some advice regarding ground transportation to the cruise terminal. Three of us will be arriving around 11:30 a.m. local time on a Sunday morning. How long will it take me to get to the cruise terminal? I am assuming ground transportation is readily available. Any recommendations regarding type and price for the best way to get to the terminal?

A prime source for information about anirports is -- surprise! -- the airport. Most big operations put a lot of effort into their websites, including information about transport. http://www.yvr.ca/en/passengers/transportation

also -- most cruises offer transfers to the ship . . .

I should have mentioned that the cruise probably leaves from a terminal that's in the centre of the city (Vancouver is built around its shorelines). Google Maps can show you what it looks like.

Thanks for your response.
My concern is that we may be a little tight for time (depending on the airline) and I want to be sure we are not lined up waiting for ground transportation for a long time. I don't know if I should book a transfer with the cruise line or take my chances with regular ground transportation. That is why I am interested in knowing how long it will take to go from the airport to the Canada Place terminal and whether I can get a cab or limo in a reasonable time. Do you know roughly how much ground transportation is likely to be from the airport to Canada Place? If anyone has done this, please let me know. |
I was in Vancouver last week. The Canada line station is at the airport, trains run every 6 or 7 minutes, time to Waterfront Station around 30 minutes. The Cruise ship terminal is pretty close to the station.
