Great breakfasts in Toronto ?
Where are the best places for breakfast in Toronto?
|
What are you looking for ina breakfast? Frans has been a great place, but I hear it is closed now. I love the Movenpick on Sunday (Sat is not really worth it). Their Sunday brunch is amazing.

You can head to the Sunset Grill or the Kew Beach Grill, both in the beaches for great, greasy breakfast food. Sunset often has a line up, Kew Beach doesn't and is equally as good, which in this cold weather is a plus.

The other thing I would suggest is dim sum for brunch - a fav with us. There are a bunch of place that serve dim sum, but many people in Toronto head to the north end of the city (even up to Richmond Hill) for really good dim sum.

hello toast on queen st. near carlaw.
Depends on what food you're talking about. For an authentic French breakfast/brunch with the best baguette and croissants this side of France, try Bonjour Brioche on Queen St. East (be warned there are line-ups at the w/e). Dim Sum is our favourite - The Pink Pearl at the Harbourfront, Wah Lei (sp?) in the Metropolitan Hotel I think it is and many more across the city.

This is so funny. I didn't get a chance to reply earlier, and now I see 2 of my favourites are already mentioned - Hello Toast and Bonjour Brioche. Both are in my neighbourhood.

I rarely go for brunch at Bonjour Brioche anymore - it's so popular that there always seem to be lineups. But they have wonderful French toast - it's more like a bread pudding and it's to die for! The room isn't very big, but it's really pretty and looks like it belongs in Provencal. I also rarely get to Toast for brunch (my husband is not a brunch person), but we often go there for dinner. Food is wonderful there and it's also very popular for brunch, judging from the crowds that I see when we go by there.

Another place along that stretch is Verveine. I've eaten dinner there, and it was wonderful - I notice they also have brunch.

Ariel is right about the lineup at the Sunset in the Beaches - I've never seen it without a lineup, so I'm assuming it's good.

There's also a Sunset Grill on the Danforth, near Coxwell. It's the same menu and usually there's no lineup there, although certainly the ambiance isn't as nice as the Beaches location.

I agree with all but don't forget The Senator Diner for a great breakfast or Le Select for the jazzy Sunday brunch.

The Marche in the BCE Place. You can go to different stations and get virutally anything you want. Very reasonably priced.
