Girls Weekend in Toronto

Scheduling our third annual girls weekend for Toronto in June 2016, and would love some advice on where to stay (either neighborhoods or specific places). We're active 60 year olds and like to be able to walk or use public transportation to get around. We like exploring neighborhoods, museums, architecture, great food, and whatever is unique to Toronto. We're not real nightlife people, although would be interested in a show or two. So what neighborhoods would be good as our home base? (Any must-see recommendations also welcome!) Thanks.

I have stayed at over 30 hotels in Toronto and would recommend the Hyatt Regency on King St W... The location is well placed near the theatre district, and right near several restaurants and bistros...

You are also between the Queen St W boutique district, the entertainment district, city hall, china town and Kensington market... Just a short hop away is Yonge St, the Waterfront, yorkville, and Bay... Transit passes can easily move your group around without a car... Have fun...

Good advice from garyt22. You might also want to consider Yorkville which is about 3km of the Entertainment District. Three museums there (Royal Ontario, Gardiner, Bata Shoe), shopping and easy access to other neighbourhoods either on foot or via subway.

s/b "3km north of the ......"

Why do I proofread after I submit?

This info is great -- keep it coming!
Have you any info on Cambridge Suites?

Thanks.

I used to work across from Cambridge Suites and we used it alot for out of town guests.

(grrr - having trouble posting - breaking answer into pieces)

The suites are quite big - I just read on Trip Advisor that they're renovating the rooms. They're said to be tired but clean so maybe request a renovated one.

That block of Richmond Street is a little dead (no safety concerns) but it's a convenient location for the subway, Eaton Centre, east to St. Lawrence Market etc.
