Getting from Montreal to Quebec City Question.

Hello,

I have never been to Quebec, and was wondering weather train travel from Montreal to Quebec City is reliable and feasible. We are only spending 4 days between both cities, and was hoping to avoid renting a car, unless there is no decent way around that.

I appreciate any help. BTW, we're not going until the first of November.

Thanks.

The train is completely reliable and very easy to use. In fact, in the worst weather when all the airports are shut down, the trains still go. You should have no problem.

The train is certainly reliable and feasible. There are about four or five trains a day, and the trip takes about three hours. You can get information on the Via Rail site at www.viarail.ca

Thanks Cat123 and laverendrye! I'll go ahead and get train tickets.

Last question . . . Does the train come to the airport in Montreal or do I need to take other transportation from the airport to the train station?

There is a train station at Dorval airport (also called Dorval station), but I don't know if you can get a train to Quebec City from there. Most trains go from downtown. You can call Via Rail and ask.
