Fungal Concern at Rathtrevor Park?

I'm hearing mixed reviews as to whether the current fungal "outbreak" around Rathtrevor Prov. Park near Parksville is cause for concern. I'm pregnant and feeling a little more cautious or I probably wouldn't worry .

Anyone know more about this fungus?

Is Cathedral Grove in Rathtrevor Park? I saw a post about a fungal problem there in a post a while back and was waiting to see if anyone would respond about it. I'm also concerned and might not take the kids. Being small they might be susceptible. I think when you're pregnant being cautious about things is a good idea.

Yes, Rathtrevor is one of the parks linked to the fungal Cryptococcal disease. However, the risk is still extremely low (3 reported cases out of about 100,000 visitors), and the park is still completely open.

There are a bunch of fact sheets at the government site: http://www.bccdc.org/epidemiology/#news
