From Quebec City to Charlottetown
I am looking for a no drive option to get from Quebec City to Charlottetown. Is rail a reasonable choice or would I do better to fly?
Thank you for any help you can give me on this.

Hi there,
The train goes as far as Moncton and Halifax, but not on PEI. If money is no object, flying is probably the best way, even though the drive is pleasant. Second would be the bus (try Greyhound). Good luck!

Ventdest is right; you can take the train from Charny (leaving at around 10pm) only as far as Moncton, New Brunswick (arriving around 12Noon the next day). (The train station on the Montreal-Halifax route is actually in Charny, a Quebec City suburb...VIA provides a shuttle to Charny from the Quebec City station.) It's good to remember that it's only in the past 10-15 years that PEI was connected to the mainland even by road (before the completion of the Confederation Bridge, the only access was by ferry), so there's no train.
However, if you do want to take the overnight train route, there are sleeping accommodations. I can attest that it's very pretty when you wake up to views of Gaspésie and la Baie des Chaleurs in northern New Brunswick. There are two Acadian Bus Lines that depart from the Moncton bus station to Charlottetown after your expected arrival time in Moncton. It's a little less than 3 hours bus ride from Moncton to Charlottetown. It seems from what I read that they even pick up passengers at the Moncton VIA Rail station. Check out www.smtbus.com/en
