Four Days in Tofino, BC
Heading to Tofino next week following several days in Vancouver. Ferrying to Nanaimo, picking up a rental car then driving across the Island to the Wick Inn. Traveling with my mom and we're both very active--looking for recommendations on must-do outdoor activities and preferred outfitters. We're planning to hike inside the Pacific Rim [best trails? one or two days needed?] and would like some time on the water both paddling and boating/whale watching. Any favorite restaurants would also be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hope I'm still replying before your departure..
I've done a coastal bear watch tour from Tofino with Remote Passages and seen bears with cubs. Best chances are with low tide.
Whale-watching can be done as well, however I'm sensitive to motion sickness as the boats sail open ocean. The bear-watch Zodiak boat on the other hand, stays in between the Islands (no waves)
Walk the Wild Pacific Trail from Ucluelet. Amazing scenery! http://www.tour-guide-canada.com/pop...-pacific-trail
The rain-forest trail half way between Ucluelet and Tofino is one of my other favourite short trails.
Go beach combing at low tide at Chesterman Beach, check the free standing rocks for star fish (orange and purple) and sea anemones.
Don't miss out on Long Beach!
Have a great trip.

Thanks for your feedback! Just home from our 10 days and hit all of your recommendations. Went on the Hot Springs trip via zodiac with Remote Passages--saw sea lions, otters and bears. Our favorite adventure was with Sam from Paddle West--we kayaked to Meares Island and loved every minute. Eagles, sea stars, porpoise and seal sightings--he was so informative making sure to point out everything to include the various kelp, animals, etc. The hikes into Schooner's Cove, Chesterman Beach, South Beach and Florence Bay were amazing. Loved the Wild Pacific Trail, despite the rainy day. Had fantastic meals at Tacofino, Shelter, Sobo and the Wick Inn [both restaurant and bar]. Can't wait to visit again!
