Forest Fires
 

I am leaving on Friday for my vacation and have heard on the news that the smoke over the Maritimes is terrible. Due to the forest fires in Quebec. Any insight from those living near by. We are going to NB, PEI and NS. Should we cancell our trip or is it not that bad.. Thanks for the help.<BR>

I don't think you should cancel your trip. It all depends on winds and location of the Jet Stream. Yesterday the smoke was over the Laurentians and Montreal, today over the Maritimes. Who knows where it will go next? Besides the Maritimes are very far from the fires, so the smoke can't be that thick when it reaches there.

The weather channel said that they are expecting rains by Wednesday. We can only hope.

I live in Halifax and I haven't seen any smoke yet! I heard that we should start to see it this evening. As of yet, NOTHING!!

I live in Toronto, 900km from the fires,<BR>and we were blanketed in smoke here all afternoon Saturday. Eerie.

Smoke rolled into Fredericton in the afternoon

The smoke is heading south and is over New England (or was over the weekend and is coming back).
