Flying to Newfoundland
Can we fly Toronto to St. John's (not necessarily non-stop) travel across Newfoundland and then fly Stephenville back to Toronto? It seems such a waste of valuable time to travel back to St. John's for the flight home even if we have three weeks on the "rock."

This made me curious, as I used to fly in and out of Stephenville in the 1970s. It's no longer listed as a destination on Air Canada's timetable (which would include Jazz flights.) Unless there's a glitch in the web site, that would suggest that it isn't served by AC or Jazz at this time. Is there another carrier serving Stephenville now?
An alternative would be the airport at Deer Lake, just east of Corner Brook.

I believe Jetsgo has offered a nonstop from Stephenville to Toronto but it might be seasonal. I also think that Air Labrador offers service.

We will be flying from Atlanta to Toronto to St Johns, going across Newfoundland and flying out of Deer Lake which will take us to Halifax then to Toronto then Atlanta. It is a little more expensvie for the flight as well as the car rental but because we only have 8 days, we thought it was worth it. We have made our reservations along the way so we don't get stuck, but other than that, we will play it by ear.
