Flights Overseas - Cheaper Recommendations

Has any other fellow Canadians found a way to keep flight prices down. I'm trying to find a flight to England but the amounts quoted seem to be around 1500+. Surely, there must be a way to get them cheaper than that!?

The only way I know is to fly out of Buffalo.
I'm not sure where you are in Canada, but consider the closest US airport. IT's worth it.

Or try the charters. But with all the taxes and surcharges here, US fares are still way cheaper.

Good luck.

It amazes me how cheap these American airlines get their prices! I hadn't thought of booking a flight through the U.S. I'll try that. thanks!

The only downide, is that if you are going out of a smaller city like Buffalo, nine times out of ten , it will mean a transer somewhere like Atlanta or NY.. one of the hubs.
Heck, I never mind doing that.. the prices are too good to pass up.

Another advantage is that if you are flying to a point in US, once you cross the border in your car, it's then just a domestic flight.

Hi jenmakin

You might consider the website travelzoo.com for some cheaper flights. They don't always have the destinations/connections you might want, but it can give you an idea of what can be done.

As Kodi suggests, the Buffalo/Detroit alternative for Southern Ontario departures is worth checking out.

My friend (who lives in London) uses this service to book her flights (I haven't used them, so can't giva a personal recommendation):

If you haven't already done so, do check out the charters: Transat is just fine and has gotten us back and forth to the UK a number of times.
