Fishing...Vancouver Island
 
..does anyone have any tips on fishing on Vancouver Island...best spots...best charters, etc.? Will be on the island for one week in mid-May.

Mid May is prime time for feeder Spring Salmon and Halibut out of Ucleulet-<i>if</i> the weather holds :-@

Oak Bay Marine Group out of Victoria has great charters.

Sooke is probably your best bet for charters and close to Victoria. There are a number of guides that work out of Sooke and can take you to some excellent fishing areas within a short distance of Victoria.

Ucleulet has lots of charters ect. My best hint would be take bonamine/gravol the night before and the morning of. It definately improves the fishing
