Fishing/Golfing Trip
 

I am looking for somewhere to go that would combine fishing and golfing for my husbands 60th birthday. We are thinking of the Lake Louise area. We have never been to Canada. What time of the year would it be less crowded?

I am not a fishermen but have travelled a lot to golf. Both Prince Edward Island and British Columbia would be ideal to combine the two.

I can't really address the fishing part of the equation...

Lake Louise is a gorgeous destination. The problem, though, is that the season for golf is relatively short there (probably mid May to mid October, but I could be wrong. Those times would probably ensure there's no snow on the courses). July and August are the busiest months in the Rockies. Mid to late June would be a good time to go as well as September.

BC would also be a good choice... here on the coast, we golf all year round.

What kind of fishing?

For deep sea fishing, the east and west coasts work, but obviously not the centre.

For serious lake fishing, you can fly into resorts in the North West Territories, or Northern Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. But these fly-in camps are much of a place for golf.

The west coast of British Columbia has excellent golf courses, and deep sea fishing. (Salmon, rahter than Marlin)

Banff, down the road from Lake Louise, has a wonderful golf course, but I'm not sure what the fishing rules are inside the national parks (several parks are in the lower Canadian Rocky Mountains.

In addition to Prince Edward Island, alredy mentioned, you can combine golf and fishing in Nova Scotia and in New Brunswick. Fundy National Park has a good golf course, too.
