Favorite lodging in Jasper if travelling as a couple w/out wee ones? :-)

Favorite lodging in Jasper if travelling as a couple w/out wee ones? :-)
I know some of the recommendations here take into account kitchen facilities offered, etc., as these are most vital if travelling as a family.
However, my hubby & I are w/out kids (none yet) & will be travelling at a much busier time this year (July), than I'm used to. (late Fall) So, wouldn't mind quieter spots, if they can be found this time of year. If not, that's fine too.
Becker's seems to keep winning on this Forum, but I wonder if a lot of that is taking into consideration having a lot of space for the $ which is again is so important w/families...and due to their kitchens, etc.
How do you like Alpine Village compared to Becker's? Patricia Lake? Tekarra?
What would you recommend if it were to 'just' a couple? ;-) (sans kids)
I do like wood-burning fireplaces...but, may not need anyway that time of year. Thanks so much!

WanderingRose - my hubby and I travel only as a couple - just the two of us (except for the infrequent occasions when we take family visiting from other parts of the world to the Rockies), and we usually like to have a kitchen because it makes breakfasts much more comfortable (I like to eat breakfast in my nightie, takes too much effort to get dressed for the simple first meal of the day

We like Becker's better than Alpine Village, the rooms are more comfy and attractive, the setting seems more serene and attractive (although the complex is larger), and Becker's has a dining room on site - in the main lodge - if you don't feel like cooking, it's only steps away. Becker's and Alpine Village are both on the Athabasca River.
We haven't stayed at Tekarra for ages so I won't comment on it. And the outside appearance of Patricia Lake Bungalows just doesn't appeal to me (no curb appeal!!).
If you want to pamper yourselves, stay at Jasper Park Lodge. It is THE place to stay in Jasper. The rooms are very nice, the location is picturesque, the amenities are many, and room service is outstanding (for example - getting a piping hot breakfast in your cabin when it is minus 26C = 15F below zero outside!! - that was one November, don't worry, it won't happen in July). It is a Fairmont Hotel, but doesn't look like a typical hotel, is more like a collection of cabins and fourplexes and rows of rooms. We stay there in the off season when the rates are much lower. And that is one of the drawbacks - it is quite pricey.
There are B&Bs and other accommodation in Jasper; some of the B&Bs have had good reviews on Fodors.

My pick is Jasper House Bungalows, particularly if you can get a cabin near the Athabasca River.
We have stayed in one more than once where we had a kitchen and a separate bed room.
Jasper House fills up, however.
The problem with Patricial Lake is that I have run into a 3 night minimum requirement. Even so, it fills up.
All those good places do in July and August which is peak season.

A recommendation has to consider your prefered location. Are you looking for a central location or do you accept also accomodations 50 kms away from Jasper.
I deceided for Beckers, because it is outside the village and as you are closer to the nature.

Yes, our choices surely will be limited. That's why I was hoping for some initial feedback to give me quick direction. (As I need to jump on whatever I (do* locate for our dates...I know.)
Thank you for the reviews & comments!! Borealis...I see your points. We just often find we like to eat out for dinner, to experience the local places.
And, for breakfast, we can sometimes get by w/very little. Lunches we picnic while hiking, so that's why we've never gotten much use out of kitchens, even tho' in theory, it would be nice to make more use of them.
Also, we always have quite a small cooler w/us due to our car size...so find it hard to carry milk, etc., place to place. (to keep it at proper temps) So, it can actually be sometimes wasteful for us, to have kitchenettes. But, I do think they can make a place feel cozy & more like your own little home in the mtns, or wherever you're visiting. So, I see their appeal. Thanks again to all for the ideas!!

We stayed at Becker's a coulpe of summers ago and it was a lovely setting. We are a family of 4 and after a long day of hiking,rafting etc wanted to get a good night's sleep. The first night was fine but the second night we had a very loud family next door to our cabin---actually it was one cabin that is divided in two by a wall. It seemed like they had a bunch of family and friends staying there and their room was the gathering spot to party. It was SO loud! Plus it was late. I went next door after awhile and told them we have 2 kids and were trying to sleep. They were nice and it got quiet for a few minutes but then it just kept getting louder. Unfortunately there was nobody in the reception/office area that late. My husband ended up going back to their room and being a bit more emphatic and they broke up the party. I'm no party pooper, but I didn't choose a quiet riverside location in the woods to be in the middle of a loud party on the other side of my wall!

I mean, otherwise, did you hear every 'little' thing going on next door? Were you upstairs or downstairs? Right now, all that is left for when we go are Deluxe Duplexes (really fourplexes I believe). These are not riverside...heard those go 6 mos before. But, they also aren't right on the road.
My only recollection from driving by Becker's was that it seemed very large & had a fair amount of cement? (which initially was off-putting) Alpine was set more on grass. However, there are so many positive reviews of Becker's here...perhaps it's time I gave them a whirl? (or perhaps it's just the riverside units that really bowl people over?)
Lastly, Patricia Lake seems to get rave reviews on tripadvisor.com. (the best of the bunch) Tekarra looks quaint, but I seemed to read more incidents w/rodents there & at Pine House Bungalows. Next, I need to see what Jasper House, has, as well. Like others say here, I'm going during prime time, so dates are rather hit or miss.

That is probably what we stayed in at Beckers and heard nothing from next door. All we heard were Elk calling. Our balcony looked over a large green area. Actually felt like it was very private and quiet even though we were there on a weekend and there weren't many vacancies anywhere. Any place you stay the cabins are fairly close and you could get a "loud" family next to you.

I don't think the walls were particularly thin. The family had a ton of people over visiting and partying in their room. From a quick look I'd say there were probably 20 people in there including kids. No wonder it was loud. Our place wasn't right next to the river---more close to the road, but it seemed quiet everywhere in the complex except in our building. I think it was unusual and don't want to give you the impression it's a rowdy place. It could happen anywhere. Plus there was a lot of grass---not much concrete from what I remember. Hope that helps.
