Fast feryy Rochester/Toronto has arrived - and it is AWESOME!
 

The new fast ferry which will run between Rochester, NY and Toronto, Ontario arrived this morning in Rochester and it is AMAZING. It is absolutely gorgeous, and HUGE! It looks like a lot of fun. We'll go on it this summer over to Toronto and maybe tour University of Toronto and see a baseball game. Come on over!

Tell me more!! Is is a car ferry? Is there a web site?
It sure sounds like a great idea, and a real time saver too.

From the website it looks like the ferry takes 2 hours from Rochester to Toronto. It must save about an hour of driving? It does look like fun. They have a coupon book that says it pays for itself on your first reservation.

But has anyone actually been on the ferry yet?????

No, because it hasn't started operating yet. I believe the launch date is some time this month.

Here's an update: according to this morning's Globe and Mail, the ferry is currently about a month behind schedule. They don't expect it to start until June. The Toronto terminal isn't even built yet; they'll be using some kind of temporary structure in the meantime.
