Family Restaurants in Niagara Falls, Canada
Our family is going to Niagara Falls for the first time this summer. We are staying at the Marriott Fallsview. Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants in the area for families? Our kids are ages 12 & 9.
Hi Faye!
You will find a Tony Roma's, Applebee's and Denny's nearby. We found places a bit pricey. One night we went to Oh Canada Eh? (a dinner show) with our children (15 and 8) and enjoyed it very much. They have a website that will give you all the details. By the way, make sure you do The Maid of the Mist! The Clifton Hill area has a lot of places but we didn't spend time there. I'm sure others can be more helpful! Have a great trip - Toronto is wonderful to visit and not that far from Niagara Falls, too.
Maureen
There are all sorts of casual, family, and "chain" restaurants toward and in Clifton Hill. Note, though, that the Niagara Parks restaurants (some restaurants and some cafeteria style) are excellent at the major attractions (Victoria Park, Maid of the Mist, Table Rock, Butterfly Conservatory) with moderate prices (especially considering the exchange rate). Highly recommend booking (essential) during the "early bird" hours (see the Niagara Parks website) at Victoria Park and Table Rock. Food is excellent, views are unsurpassed, and prices are a steal for the prix fixe menus.

For the kids, Maid of the Mist, Journey Behind the Falls and Butterfly Conservatory are all aweome (for you as well).

You might also want to try a side trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake, about 20 minutes from the Falls. A beautiful town with fabulous theatre. It is very picturesque (sp) and had lovely shops and restaurants. You can easily drive from the Falls to the Butterfly Conseratory, than on to NOTL. there are also wineries to tour in NOTL. We stopped at one last week, with our kids and they had non-alcoholic juice for the kids to taste while we tasted some wine.

Rainforest Cafe up behind Hard Rock and the Casino if you don't have one where you live now.

The 12 year old might find it corny but the 9 yo should enjoy it! We are 29/30 and had a good time watching the wildlife come alive!

The HERSHEY store....not for dinner but dessert--cheap and fun chocolates you can't always find here in the states...Oh Henry Bars...make your own chocolate bar kits....

otherwise...just a lot of chain restaurants for your selection from what I remember last spring.

I will be back in May and could let you know!
