Fairmont Airport - Help!
I'm traveling with friends on an Alasakan cruise - disembarking in Vancouver at noon. The Fairmont Waterfront is full that day - The Fairmont Airport was suggested - but - we have the rest of the day Sunday - and our plane doesn't leave until 1:30 the next day - should we go with our friends to the Airport hotel or pick something in town - is it that GREAT of a hotel? I just don't want to be stuck at a airport hotel if I can be located downtown. Will I be stuck?

Yes, you will be stuck.
Stay downtown, and enjoy Vancouver in the fternoon and evening and even for a couple of hours in the morning before you go to the airport for the 1:30 flight. Is the Fairmont Vancouver (the big downtown hotel) full? Four Seasons, Westin Bayshore, Hyatt, lots and lots of other excellent and very good hotels downtown. BAK |
The other Fairmont is available...but I'm going to check out your other hotel suggestions too! After a week on a cruise together...splitting up the final night should not be an issue :) Thanks for your help.

The fairmont airport is a great hotel, but, with the time that you have to spend downtown , and with an afternoon flight, you should stay in the city. Try the Wedgewood, the Bayshore, or the Pan Pacific. Cheers, Al

We just saw "Are We There Yet?", a very funny movie and one of the Fairmont Hotels in Vancouver was in the movie. :)
I'm so looking forward to seeing Vancouver this summer! We will be staying in many Fairmont properties in the next few months, so I joined their President's Club. ***kim*** ((f)) |
I have stayed twice in the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel. It is very nice Hotel with good standard if you arrive late afternoon at the airport.
Try to find another waterfront Hotel in Vancouver, as the area at vancouver airport in very industrial. Good specials can be found on www.hellobc.com www.tourismvancouver.com Regards Tom |
