expedia.ca or travelocity.ca

Has anyone booked airline tickets through either of these sites, and did you have good or bad experiences with them? A friend and I are planning to fly from Calgary to San Diego in October and so far I've found much cheaper flights on these two sites than through a travel agent (save per person: approx. $100 + travel agent fee).

One of my concerns is what happens if either of these companies goes out of business before or during travel? Will the airline still honour the tickets? The reason I'm so concerned about this is that Canada 3000 went bankrupt after they got me to Hawaii (not the worst place to be stranded!). Aloha Airlines charged me extra to honour the inter-island ticket I purchased through C3000.

Any advice? TIA

Hi Naneki,
Travelocity and Expedia are two of the major online reservation companies and are both solvent and reliable. I use both without any problems.

I booked airplane tickets trough travelocity less then a year ago - their rates were better then expedia's. At the same time reserved a hotel through expedia - better rate then travelocity. Used Expedia few more times. Ones had a problem, it took only one phone call to solve. From my experience I'd use both (and check other big sites) choosing better rates.

I have tried both on numerous occasions without any problems. Another alternative is Orbitz.com which owned by the member airlines.
