Electricity question
I know my question sounds like troll's but I don't have a choice - can't find out if I can use american hairdryer in Vancouver. Is the voltage the same in USA and Canada? Do I need an adapter?

|
We use the same electricity as you do. No adapter needed.

Thank you, Gavin!
And Faina, just to go a bit beyond what you asked.. pretty much everything in the USA electric-wise (plugs, voltage, phone jacks, etc) is identical to those in Canada.

The only differences you'll find is in way we measure things (Litres to gallons, kilometeres to miles, etc). ;)

Robyn, yes, I know - there is Metric system in Canada, that's why I've asked about electricity, thank you. But this is not the only difference - when I was in Canada in 1999 (and I did not bring any electric devices with me so I don't know about electricity) I was shocked to see there are safe cities in North America! I was walking alone at night in Toronto what I would never do in San Francisco. And you have medical insurance there... everybody's covered! But I don't covet your taxes :)

Given that our taxes have to be filed by the end of this month, I don't think any of us want to get into the whole tax issue!

Topping for Kathryn.

HA HA HA Susan our taxes were due on April 15.
|
Topping for Marco.
|
No our electricity is metric too! You need an adapter.

We bring our 60 watt lightbulbs. With the exchange rate, you get about the same brilliance as a 100 watt back home <g>
