Electric current

This may seem like a silly question but have been unable to find the answer in any of my tour books.
What type of electric current is used in Canada? Is it the same as USA? The Fodor guide recommended bringing adapters. I live in NY & thought Canada had the same type of power we do.

Yes our electicity is the same as yours. Same plugs too.

Not a silly question at all. You must remember that Fodors' books are sold world wide. Somebody buying a Canada travel guide in Great Britain would need adapters. It is a shame if the book does not mention that we use 110 volt 60 hertz power though.

pandagirl,

60hz, 120 volts. Same across the rest of North America.
