My family are planning a trip of two weeks to easten Canada. We are going to drive from MA to Maine and to Canada. We plan to visit New Brunswick,NS,PEI, and Newfoundland. We would like to see Fundy, Cape Breton Highlands and Gros Morne National Parks. If possible, we'd also like to visit St.Pierre island. Any suggestions? We would like to find out the least time consuming route at the reasonable cost.

Hi Sunny, <BR>I think you are biting off way too much for 2 weeks. <BR>Perhaps just pick 2 of the provinces for this trip.

With two weeks, you should be able to see a lot of New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. Adding Newfoundland might prove to be biting off a bit much because of the travel time/logistics it adds to the equation. It sounds like a great trip and the beauty of it is that you don't have to break the bank. Coming from where you are, I would suggest heading through NB toward St. John, up to Moncton and out to P.E.I. You can catch the interesting Hopewell Rocks area on your way up to Moncton (highest tides in the world). You will find lots of delicious and reasonably priced seafood along the Fundy coast -- it's not just lobster. :o) Plan a couple of days in Halifax -- it's a lovely and interesting city. You must break the Newfoundland related destinations into a seperate trip i.e. St. Pierre and Miquelon and Gros Morne and NNfld in general are all wonderful and worth seeing but not doable at the same time as New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia esp. by car. Having said that we particularly enjoyed New Brunswick last year. After crossing at Maine, we went to St. Andrews by the Sea which was very charming and seakayaking was great for kids. A trip to St John was also made fun for youngsters by a boatrip to the tide-falls (we saw seals) and for me, a trip to the Old Market in town, excellent "slow food" lobster rolls, mussels, a great day all round!
