Hi, I saw your post on the US boards, and agreed with the poster who said you really don't need to stay overnight.
We have done this trip in about 8 hours..we stopped at Scroon Lake just past Lake George, had lunch in a park then drove on to Quebec City. We left early in the morning and arrived in QC around 6 pm. It is a very easy drive once you are out of the NYC traffic and onto the thruway..We do it twice a year, going to Montreal and that always takes about 6 hours, no more. It will be a beautiful time to drive up .. the trees are so pretty then. Last year driving into Montreal, we hit snow for a day, same time of year:) This is what we do..we just want to get there, so we always drive straight through. But on the trip back, we stop at the Sagamore, at Boltons Landing, for a night or two. We get a lodge, they have a small kitchen and a fireplace with a balcony overlooking the woods and lake. It is very romantic and beautiful. Other than that, most of the hotels motels are closed up there and I think you would not find anything to do besides walk around and look at the colorful trees. Hope this helps~ |
