dress code vancouver restaurants
 

we will be spending 4 days in vancouver next week, and I have made reservations at five sails and il giardino for dinner. will my husband need to pack his sports jacket? or can he get by with nice golf shirt and khaki slacks?

Fo Five Sails jackets are a must but for Il Giardini it would be optional though over half the men there would likely be wearing sports jackets.

As for 'polar fleece' - while today is the coolest day in a long time it's still going to hit 20C but the strong wind is making it feel cooler. In all liklihood it will be normal shirtsleeve weather, (i.e in the mid to upper 20's), with a very small chance of cloudy and/or showery weather.

In my view a golf shirt would not be appropriate for either of these restaurants, though you might just get away with it in Il Giardino.

A tie takes up no room at all. We always pack one "just in case".

A tie would be fine in both restaurants.

But not essential.
