Downtown Toronto from the airport
Hi,
I'm heading to Toronto in a couple of weeks with my two kids and my wife. I'm staying near Eaton Centre and trying to avoid renting a car for the first few days there. What would be the best way to get downtown from the airport? How much would a taxi ride cost? What are other alternatives? Thanks in advance for your advice. pup |
The best way for four people, plus perhaps lots of stuff, is by airport limo.
Outside each terminal you'll find direction signs; look for the limos, which cost about the same as taxis but are nicer. Ballpark, $60. It'll cost you about te same on a big highway bus, take longer, be more inconveninet... And, if you are near Eaton Centre, you won't need a car, at least for the first few days, so that's a good decision BAK |
According to GTAA.com limos are $50 and taxis are $46 to downtown. For the record the Eaton Centre can be reached by TTC for one fare (per person) on one bus and two subway trains. Details at ttc.ca. With a family and stuff not a great idea.

Airport limo is a breeze and well worth it for a family. Get to your hotel calm and relaxed and start your trip off easy-peasy. Have a good time!

Hello, Pup! I always get a limo. Call ahead to reserve it. Then when you collect your luggage & head for the exit look for "Prearranged"(this is in Terminal 1....I have not been in 2 or 3 recently but I assume it is the same.) Go to your right. Walk way down to the end....I think it is exit D .... I never look anymore but it is just past a little bar/cafe....maybe called Bellaire?....I mention this b/c if you go out the first door for "Prearranged" which I think is C you will then have to walk down to D to check in w/ the dispatcher. So, go to D, go outside, give your name & the name of your limo co & the dispatcher will call the driver to come up from the limo compound.

Wow,
We usually just collect our bags, walk out the exit and over to the line-up of limos. Once in a while, we've had to wait a few minutes if the terminal has a lot of flights landing at the same time, but we've never bothered prearranging. |
hdm, your way is much easier. I'll try it next time. Thanks!

Thank you all. Limousine it is!
