Door/Travel Alarm

Does anyone know where I can find a door alarm, portable door lock, or a rubber door stop in Alberta? I have read on other forums that there are good items to have when travelling but all the websites that I have found that sell them do not ship to Canada. I would prefer to just go buy them in a store to buying online as I am leaving for my trip soon. Please help if you can suggest any stores in Alberta that might sell this sort of thing!

Hmmm, I thought I replied to you, but my response seems to have ended up in the Bermuda Triangle.

I have a rubber door stop. However, I bought it years ago, and cannot remember where I found it. I'm pretty sure you would be able to buy one at Walmart, Canadian Tire, or some such place.

I find a rubber door stop to be very effective. Even when I am travelling alone, and feel the need for a bit more security, I do not feel the need for anything more than the rubber door stop. What I mean is that I don't feel the need for a door alarm or a portable door lock.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Judy, its good to hear your advice on what works. I'll be living alone in Scotland in a ground floor apartment on a busy street, so naturally I'm a little nervous for my safety!

Hi Erin,

I've ordered from Magellans and they ship to Canada...took about 2 weeks I think. For living on a ground floor I might invest in something more like this:

Agree with Tobie about a ground floor apartment.
