Dog hotels with Jacuzzi rooms
We want to bring our mini-schnauzer on vacation with us this July driving from Boston to Montreal. Do you know of any hotels that have whirpools in the rooms that let dogs?
|
Just traveled the route from Nova Scotia to Montreal and beyond. We found exactly one hotel that actually 'welcomed' our Cairn, a budget hotel, a Comfort Inn, definitely no jacuzzi, in Edmunston, New Brunswick. The White Hotel in Bangor, Maine will also accept dogs. But no fancy tub!
Most motels we looked at along the route weren't really keen on dogs and some posted strict 'no pet' rules. The ones we did find were all we needed so I didn't bother looking further...isn't there a website/book devoted to pet travel for more specific needs? |
Wow.
Talk about a niche market that needs exploring. You two need to get together researching a book about 'Hotels that let dogs in their Whirpools'. Seriously, why is this different than any other niche market? If Leona Helmsley can leave millions to her pooch, there must be others. Personally, my cats are singularly unimpressed with whirlpool tubs. |
You know, Icithecat I responded thinking that the OP wanted a room with whirlpool for herself and SO in a hotel that accepted dogs.
You have truly added a new dimension if the jacuzzi is intended to be dog-friendly. I don't know the answer to that question. And I think I am glad about that... |
dbldidit - I know what you mean. I think that icithecat has a great idea but I know you just want a room with a whirlpool for yourselves. We travel with our mini doxie and it is most annoying that you can only get "dog" roooms and not the upper end suites etc if you have a dog. The other thing that we lose out on is we used to book rooms through Priceline and get some wonderful accommodation at excellent prices. We can't do that anymore as they don't have a spot for "dog friendly". However, when we are splurging the Starwood chain accept pets so we have stayed in some lovely rooms in the Westin and Sheraton. They do have other hotels in that chain but pricey. So for us its usually Best Western and Motel 6.

Good news! Someone else suggested "dog friendly" canada - I found several interesting places that take pups- some cottages with kitchens right on the beach, The Homeport B & B w/whirpool! in NB, Stonejame in Scotsburn w/ whirpool at good price, and Lord camden Inn in Maine, which was a bit pricier - we opted not to go with major chains, somewhat to avoid cities where pups can't go in the sites and stick to more hiking and outdoorsy things with Taffy.

Sutton, Quebec is a lovely town in the Eastern Townships, en route to Montreal from Boston. The B&B Bonne Nuit Beaux Reves is dog-friendly and one room has a whirlpool tub. I assume that you weren't asking if there was a Jacuzzi for dogs!

LOL A doggie-cuzzi.
Along the same line, I read on another travel site about someone wanting a "dog spa" to leave their pet while they went away on vacation. Sheesh, when did kennels start offering treatments? Talk about niche marketing. |
