Discover card in Toronto, Montreal
 

Hi All! Does anybody know if Discover card is widely use in Canada, particularly Toronto and Montreal? I read that Discover Card doesn't charge foreign transaction fees as opposed to Citibank or Chase that charges 3%.

The Discover Card is not in wide use in Canada. You will find that very few merchants or establishments will accept it.

Thanks for the reply, laverendrye. I just read somewhere that Capital One and Discover don't charge foreign transaction fee as opposed to Chase or Citibank that charges 3%. I have a rarely-use Discover card that I thought I'd bring along when we go to Canada next month.
